Physiotherapy at Laurel Street Chiropractic & Rehab

person on back rollerAt Laurel Street Chiropractic & Rehab, we pride ourselves on offering a multi-faceted approach to helping patients get out of pain, correct their biomechanics, and restore optimal mobility so they can feel and function at their highest levels. With decades of experience and cutting-edge technology, our chiropractors incorporate a wide range of tools and techniques to help you get the most out of life.

Based on your consultation and thorough examination, your chiropractor will design a personalized care plan to help you meet your needs. That plan may include one or more of our physiotherapy and rehab services at different points in your care journey.

Our Services

Our physiotherapy modalities include:

  • Interferential current: Also called muscle stimulation or e-stim, interferential current uses specific, safe levels of electrical current directed into the damaged tissues to increase blood flow, decrease spasm and facilitate healing.
  • Ultrasound: This therapy uses sound waves that create a heating response in the damaged tissue, which increases the flow of blood and oxygen to the area and helps reduce pain and inflammation.
  • Cold Laser: Using specific frequencies of light that react with the tissues at a cellular level, cold laser therapy stimulates the body’s healing response to reduce inflammation and accelerate healing.

Our Rehab Services Include:

  • Targeted stretching and strengthening exercises: Based on your specific condition or injury and goals, we will teach you specific stretches and exercises to help restore mobility, strengthen the area, and create long-term stability.
  • BTrackS™ Balance Training: This cutting-edge technology allows us to assess your balance, weight distribution and fall risk, and uses biofeedback to help improve your balance. Proper balance is important in maximizing mobility and preventing future injuries.
  • Foundation Training: This targeted exercise program is designed to strengthen and stabilize the posterior chain muscles in your body—the muscles in your back, hips, glutes and legs. These exercises help counteract the effects of sitting at a desk and hunching over technology, and may decrease back pain and improve posture.
