Dr.Rob van Zweeden
Dr. van Zweeden, who has been known for years as Dr. Rob, has been in full time practice (except for some pretty good vacation breaks) since graduating in 1980 from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He returned to his native New Zealand after graduating, where he established a clinic in Hamilton, part of the farming heartland of the country. He returned to the U.S. in 1986 and in 1988 established his own clinic in Northeast Phoenix, AZ, which at the time was on the outskirts of town. The city grew up around him and though changing his location because of practice growth, he never moved more that a mile from the original clinic site. He sold the clinic to his remaining partners at the start of 2012 and moved to Anchorage in February of that year, after a short trip back to New Zealand to see family.
Dr. Rob's primary goal remains to get his patients back to doing what they need to do and what they love to do, as appropriately and quickly as possible. Through ongoing education, he has studied and utilizes the best combination of the most up-to-date soft tissue and nutritional approaches to assist his Chiropractic techniques and rehabilitation programs.
His treatment goal is to reduce your pain, increase function and teach you how to take care of your spine and body to avoid pain episodes in the future. His office goal (and this includes his well trained and friendly staff) is to make your treatment visits to our 5 star facility as comfortable and stress free as possible.
Dr. Rob's interests have meant that staying in good health has been a primary concern of his. He continues to play Masters' rugby (this year being invited to play in Colorado in the 'Over 50 and Over 60's' Tournaments) as well as playing in local team competitions here in Alaska. He has been, and continues to be, a player, coach and team physician for the teams with which he plays. His other interests include water skiing, snow skiing, horse riding and sailing.
